DONUTS FOR DINNER?

There's a new craze in town, donuts from
J.Co in Pavilion KL. My sister was talking bout it, even my mummy and also B... The line is forever very long 'cus there'll be lots of people queueing up just to buy their donuts.

That makes us wonder how the donuts would taste like. Must be really nice! Or people wouldn't be queueing up that way.

Anyway, we've always passed on it 'cus never have the luxury of time to participate in the long queue. Till one day, my sis decided to just do it and she fell in love! Told us that it's the best donuts that she's ever had, bla bla...

So B promised me that he's gonna bring a dozen home for me after work one day. And he did. And so, we had donuts for dinner today! Nice at first, but as we came to the 5th donut, it got a little bit too much. Hehehee...

By the way, aren't they pretty? ;> And in case you're wondering, B waited in line for 40 minutes for his turn to bring home these little darlings. ;>

Love you, B. Thank you...

BACK TO MEMORY LANE - PART 4

We've reached the end of the first year, and it's time to make some difficult decisions. Selected students were given 2 options to consider.
1. Fast track into degree programs and accept one of the majors on offer
2. Graduate from diploma and freedom to enroll into our preferred major in degree

Most of the people we knew selected Option 1 because it's safe. Even M, our dear M. But C, S and me decided to take the risk and selected Option 2. We'd rather stay behind and complete the diploma together. Only after that, will we enroll ourselves into our preferred majors.

Came first day of the new semester, it felt rather lonely because most of the faces we knew were gone. But 3 of us sticked together and it made us strong.

However, in a later class, a familiar face popped up. Guess who??? It's B! Hehehee... Well even though it's B, it's still comforting to have one more familiar face to keep. ;P Anyway, it turned out that his posse selected Option 1 and he's the only one left.

So call it being nice or showing empathy, we decided to invite him to sit together in class - since he was all alone, and he was friends with C and S anyway, even though I don't really know him. ;P

Time passed and he eventually became one of us. Can you believe it?? B one of us! Well it's all because he turned out to be okay and most importantly, harmless - though he can be a little bit weird sometimes. But despite that, he turned out to be a gentleman too, surprisingly, which is not very common these days.

Anyway, having B in the group added as an advantage. Don't forget I mentioned that he's a brainy. Hehehee... And you know, being a brainy, he's always on top of things and so that left us with less things to worry about. ;P

B came especially handy in one of the dreadful afternoon classes, where the professor would just talked and talked non-stop just like a runaway train, and we had to keep up with him, trying to take down notes. Everything he said were somehow important as it was not easy to get reference books on the subjects discussed. To make things worse, each lecture lasted 2 hours and the subjects were so boring and not to forget, it's also nap time. Most people would usually last for an hour or so, and after that, they'll just give up. The 4 of us being good students, will try to stay awake for as long as we can. But when the time comes where we really couldn't keep up anymore, no worries, because there's always B 'hanging on to his life' to get everything down. Hehehee...

With B around also, there's no worries in trying to get the best seats in class, because he's always early. I mean 'early', not as in punctual - but 'early'. Hehehee... So by the time we're there, he's already got all the nice seats saved for us.

In between classes, we have a new place to hang out as well - B's place. Before B, we used to stay in the library or hang out at cafes which can be a bore sometimes. At B's, it's far more flexible. We can speak as loud as we want, play the music, everything! To add to it, it's very convenient as it's just around the corner where we'd have lunch everyday - making it the best spot. To return to our own dorms was a little bit troublesome as it's rather far away. By the time we're starting to get comfortable, it's almost time to get going again. So most of the times, we'd rather stay out.

Anyway, life went on this way for 2 whole semesters. But of course, there are other things happening in between...

BACK TO MEMORY LANE - PART 3

The Math class in Part 2 marked the beginning of my 'nightmare'. Yes, I said nightmare. Because B became the favourite topic of my friends, namely S, M and C.

For a start, let me introduce these 3 beautiful angels a.k.a little devils.

S, as you know it, was in the Math class together with me. She's not only a coursemate to me, she's also my roommate - meaning that we spent ALL day and night together. So whatever that happens, she would know! ;P

M and C were my coursemates, and I spent every single weekends with them. This is because I'm not local and so is C. On weekends, most people would go home, but we can't because our homes are far away. So the next best option is M's home! ;> Hehehee... We spent the weekends doing all the girlie stuffs, stereo on full blast, getting crazy, etc. And it definitely helps that M's parents are cool - even though they do make sure that we behave sometimes. Hehehee...

Well, the 4 of us were practically inseparable. We sat together in classes, formed assignment groups, hang out in between classes, meals together, etc. In short, we shared a lot together.

Now back to my 'nightmare'. S was so 'excited' with what had just happened that she just had to tell M and C every single details that very same day. I realized that something was not right when M and C started giggling for no good reason. And I was like "You... When on earth did you find the time to tell them? I thought I'm always there!" Since then, everybody never stopped teasing me about it.

To make matters worse, M sees B on-line via the ICQ every now and then. My name eventually became part of the topics somehow. ;P Then M started telling me that B thinks that I'm cute and that he'd like to get to know me better and whatsoever, I wonder whether she added her own spices in the stories! ;P And of course, C and S knew too.

Since then, whenever B appeared, all 3 devils would go "Your friend, look, your friend!" and at the same time, waving and saying 'hi' to him - even when he's afar. B would happily return the gesture and that never failed to get to me. And they enjoyed every single minute of it each time. How I hate them, little rats! ;P

To be frank, B is not exactly my dream guy. [Sorry, darling...] You know, being young, we target for good looks, attitudes, etc - don't tell me that you don't! ;P So B doesn't really fit into that 'category', but that doesn't mean that he's not good - or else, I wouldn't be marrying him eventually.

Anyway, because B didn't fit the 'category' at that time, I did all that I could making sure that I do not give him the wrong idea. Hehehee... That includes any potential social contact! And this was how life went on for the rest of the year. Hehehee...

SALE ???

There is this particular shop that I must really mention, selling rosewood furnitures. The business is barely surviving, but it is still there after so long - I suppose a couple of years or maybe longer!

The reasons why it's not doing so well :
1. Location - the shoplot area is not well populated and rather secluded
2. Too pricey
3. Shop is hot and humid - air conditioning is only switched on when customer walks in (goodness...)

I drive pass the shop quite often and I always make it a point to just look inside to see whether there's customers. 99% of the time is nil.

Then one fine day, came up a signage ''Stock Clearance Sale''. You start seeing customers in there every now and then. And it ended. Looked inside, not much sold. ;P

A couple of months passed, another signage came up. "Moving Out Sale". Call me bad, but I was thinking : "Very well, you're finally giving up on this non-profitable business. Good that you realized that soon enough." I mean, c'mon... Why hang on to a business that is not working? It's a waste of fund, time and effort. Renting a shoplot is never cheap. Even if the shoplot is self-owned, hiring of workers still eats up the bank account. Yes, you guessed it right. I have not seen the owners before. There are only 2 foreign workers looking after the place - provided if they are the 'owners'. Anyway, again, nothing much moved. ;P

However, that's not the end of the story. I thought it is, it's supposed to be... 'Cus there was the 'Moving Out Sale'. But believe it or not, they never moved away, they're still there! Everything was in the exact condition as before, nothing's changed.

And yesterday, there's a new signage at the shop "Mid Year Sale"! ;D What the... Hehehee...

So now, hubby and I are anticipating for "Year End Sale" to appear. And maybe later "New Year Sale", "Mega Sale", etc... ;P Hehehee...

SNATCH THIEF ON A MOTORCYCLE

Something happened when I was on my way to work this morning. For your info, our staff carpark is not attached to the office building. Instead, it is a short walk away.

After I got down from my car, I noticed that there’s a motorcyclist who was riding very slowly beside the parking area and was watching me at the same time. He moved on after a while, so I thought perhaps he’s just a passerby. I continued walking, not suspecting anything. But as I approached the ‘metal chain’ to cross the road, I saw him there at the corner waiting! I couldn’t see him earlier because he was hidden by a Kembara parked at the corner.

I came to a halt as I saw him, wondering what was it that he wanted. I looked at him and he looked back at me, and I realized it’s my handbag that he’s after. He was just waiting for me to cross the road so that he could snatch my handbag and speed off.

Luckily at that time, two fellow colleagues were walking towards my direction. One from the left and another from the back. I think he realized that he’s not going to get what he wanted as I wouldn’t move and there were also people approaching. So eventually, he rode off.

Just for the record, he’s wearing a tinted shield helmet with sunglasses and dark colour jacket – totally unrecognizable, provided if someone can remember his plate number.

It pays to be fully alert of your surrounding at all times. You'll never know what's gonna happen in the world these days.

BACK TO MEMORY LANE - PART 2

Several months went on, except for this particular day which I must mention - not to be missed out. Because it was the first time ever that I've actually spoken to B.

One particular day, me and S decided to crash into a Math class conducted by a different lecturer from ours - because we heard that he's good, not like ours who only seemed to be speaking his own alien language, leaving everybody clueless and all we can see was the endless scribbling on the whiteboard and flashing of slides.

Anyway, back to the class we crashed. As we walked in, we can see that the class was full with practically no seats left. We were like "Oops, this is awkward" when suddenly we noticed a familiar face, B, who was sitting on his own because his buddies decided to skip class that day to do some last minute revision for a test later. By the way, heard that B is a genius, which explained why he still went to class.

Well, remember in Part 1 when B smiled to me after class one day and I was like "Er, ok..."? Yeah, so we tried hard looking for seats to avoid any possible awkward situation. At that time, he had noticed and was already smiling to us. ;P

Then the lecturer walked in and the class started to settle and we have not found a place to sit. So the seats beside B seemed pretty much like the only option. And after some quick discussion with S, we decided that ok, let's just sit with B, no choice.

I walked first, and half way through, I turned back to look at S and guess what? She had went off to the other direction and had taken a seat somewhere else, and left me there on my own. Out of courtesy and of course lacking in time, I had to sit down beside B. I turned to S, gave her the 'just you wait look' and she was there laughing all the way through class.

So I was there stuck with B, and he happily introduced himself and made small talks. And of course, S was watching and laughing to herself - enjoying the show.

An hour never seemed so long... And I can't wait to go. B was down with flu and he had forgotten to bring his hanky along. His nose started running and he was sniffing hard and wiping away with his hands. I looked into my bag to offer him some tissue, which I've always brought with me. But too bad, I ran out. So I had to just sit there and pretend as if nothing happens and return his occasional smiles, when in actual fact, I was like "Eww..."

One thing I found out though and rather impressed. B definitely has something in his brain, like what I've heard. The lecturer would be working on the solutions on the whiteboard and before he could finish, B would have the answers - without having to write anything on the paper, everything was working in the brain. Boy, was I impressed!

So this was what I derived from the Math class : Eww + Brainy = B

Anyway, as the class ended, we said bye and went our separate ways. Yes, you guessed it right - S got a good scolding from me for being such a 'great friend'.

This chapter marked the begining of Part 3.

ROLEX WATCH

I had the privilege to see a Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II up close and actually touch it - at work today.

To most of you, you would think "So? It's just another watch with a brand."

Well, yeah, so? That's my point! It's just so ordinary, just like any other watches - superficially of course, not taking into account whatever special function that it has. But the outlook is still no big deal. But it costs a whopping RM15,000.00! And that is after corporate discount, mind you. Imagine how much you can do with that amount of money!

To be fair, I gave it a closer look to perhaps justify the price.
Touch : The metal feels the same to me. No significant difference.
Weight : Not extra heavy or extra light.
Looks : As mentioned above, normal.

So call me realistic or whatever that you deem suitable, but it still does not justify the RM15,000.00! Well for now, at least. But even if when the time comes that I can afford this as a necessity [Dream on!], I don't think I would make this kind of purchases. I would rather use the money for other purposes. ;P Of course I would not refuse this as a gift though... [**HINT** Darling... Hehehee...]

All things said, it is still up to individuals to decide as to which brand of watches that would suit their tastes and lifestyles better. So if there's anybody related to Rolex in any way that is reading this right now, don't sue me! This is not an attempt to influence anyone on their purchases or anything like that. Just a personal opinion from a little lady. Hehehee...

BACK TO MEMORY LANE

Ok, I remember making a promise that I think I should keep - on how it all started between me and my hubby. We shall call him "B" here.

In one of my previous blog, I mentioned that B is my college sweetheart. Well in actual fact, not really... ;P [Contradiction, contradiction!]
Wait!! Before you go any further, let me explain.

We met in college, that's for sure. But we were just plain friends when we were studying together. Things only sparked off when he switched to another college. So that way, I don't think he really fits into the term 'college sweetheart'. But still in some sense, he is? What-te-verr... I know I am starting to sound very confused! ;D

Anyway, to be honest, I don't remember when exactly B joined the class. But I started to notice when he smiled to me after class one day. At that time, I was like "Er, ok..." And that's about it. Never really say 'hi' or anything like that. All I know is that there's someone like that in the class.

So I guess you can tell, it was definitely not love at first sight! ;D At least not on my side of the story!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

It's the day of the year for all the lovey-dovey stuffs! Roses, chocolates, soft toys, etc... The list goes on. And who is the happiest of them all? Girls?? Nah... I would say it's the merchandisers! Hahahaa...

Don't get me wrong... I may say this but I am actually an avid supporter of this kind of things. Anytime there's a special day coming up, you'll find me bustling around gift shops and whatever related shops WAY in advance - just trying to get the right piece of card and the right piece of gift. And I'll be there like many, many times, just so that I don't make the wrong buy! ;D

Anyway, so back to the topic - the No. 2 happiest of them all would be of course the girls. Yes, you have guessed it right. Even though it is a day to celebrate love, not just between a pair of lover, but also between family members and friends - the focus is still on the girls! We'd be showered with all the goodies, when majority of the guys could only watch with envy.

Even at workplace, our ever so kind CEO presented each and every one of the girls in the company with a box of Ferrero Rocher, as a token of appreciation - and it's solely for girls, nothing for the guys! Haha! And this is the way it is each year, when it comes to Valentine's day. Face it guys, not your day. ;P
[My guy colleagues are gonna come after me!]

And everywhere you go, there you see - roses from fiance, teddy from boyfriend... Nothing delivered to the guys and you hear them complaining, "I'm broke, man. And later, gotta fork out money for dinner... And Chinese New Year is so near, need to buy hampers... Where to find the money?"

Even me, I have a nice bouquet of roses from my dear hubby - with a sweet white teddy in the middle holding a heart saying 'I love you', together with a card that sings a tune and also with red hearts popping here and there in the bouquet. And I'm the centre of attention for the department this year - as I'm the only lucky person to have stuffs delivered to the office! ;D

Anyway, Happy Valentine's Day! Enjoy it with your loved ones. Remember - even the smallest of token should be appreciated with a happy heart as it is the thought that counts, not the size nor value!

I'M FAT! OR AM I?

Hahahaa... This is good, "Please God - If you can't make me thin, make my friends fat!!" How I wish!

I actually have a petite frame, and consider myself to have a 'just nice' body - in terms of composition of flesh or you can call it fat on my body! But I have this teeny-weeny issue where my face would be the first part that bloats up if I ever gain weight. It can be rather frustrating at times as it really shows - afterall the face is usually what others see when they first look at you.

I really do envy the people out there that would have very slim face regardless of how the body is. You know what I mean? They're just so pretty all the time! Face would be the last thing they have to worry about as it stays the same size.

I am really starting to worry now as every now and then, when I walk around the office, there'd be people telling me, "Hey, think you put on some weight!" and give me that big grin - which is not a good thing!

It all started about 3 months ago, which was right after my wedding. Yeah, by the way, I tied the knot about 3 months back to my college sweetheart. We'll talk about how we met and stuffs like that ok, sometime in the next blogs.

Well, before the wedding, we went on a strict diet and exercise regime to keep the fats away - so that we'd look good in the wedding pics! And it works! The photos were great! Anyway, after the wedding, we thought like well, perhaps we can slow it down a little... You know, just enjoy life's little pleasures - especially food. We love food. The list of our favourite restaurants is endless - Secret Recipe, Baskin Robbins, Sushi King, TGI Friday's, Dome Cafe, Nando's, Kenny Roger's Roasters, 1901 Hotdogs, Old Town Kopitiam, Vietnam Kitchen, etc.

Perhaps it's time to cut down on the indulgences - we've been eating like nobody's business! Better behave before it's too late!

HI THERE!

Hi there! This is my first blog.

I am keeping this as my life's journal and to share my thoughts on everything!

Hopefully, readers will be able to relate to the contents and together, we will embark on life's wonderful journey!
